Accounts Assistant

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, maintain, and analyze dynamic sales reports using Microsoft Excel, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.
Record purchase transactions and verify them against approved Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), ensuring correct quantities, pricing, and supporting documentation.
Review and reconcile daily receipt entries to ensure accurate recording of collections and receipts.
Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies between bank statements and company records.
Prepare and record cheque payments and maintain proper vendor payment documentation.
Process petty cash transactions, verify supporting documents, and maintain accurate petty cash records.
Assist in the preparation of VAT schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents for VAT filing requirements.
Prepare periodic financial and management reports as requested by management.
Monitor customer outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments to support timely collections.
Maintain organized accounting records and filing systems for audit and compliance purposes.
Assist with annual external audits by providing required schedules, documentation, and support to auditors.
Support the finance department in day-to-day accounting operations and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree holder with focus in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory, including formulas, Pivot Tables, lookups, data analysis, and report preparation.
Minimum 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience.
Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
Familiarity with VAT regulations and accounting software will be an advantage.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
