Position: Cargo Operations Agent – Safety

Emirates SkyCargo operates a major international air cargo network connecting more than 140 destinations across six continents. The Dubai hub supports the movement of cargo, courier shipments, and mail across important global trade routes. The Cargo Operations Agent – Safety position is responsible for supporting safe, accurate, and efficient cargo handling activities across warehouse and airside operations.

The successful candidate will work within an assigned cargo operations area and help ensure that cargo, courier, and mail handling meets required safety, security, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves supervising and guiding cargo handling activities while ensuring that established safety and quality procedures are followed. Safety briefings may be provided to assigned team members before operational activities begin.

Main duties include:

Inspecting, verifying, and counting cargo during acceptance, delivery, breakdown, and build-up operations.
Updating shipment information in SkyChain to ensure accurate cargo tracking and status information.
Coordinating with government authorities, including customs, health authorities, and police, when necessary for the timely movement of shipments.
Ensuring dangerous goods are handled in accordance with the latest applicable IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Maintaining proper procedures for temperature-sensitive and pharmaceutical shipments in line with relevant EU GDP requirements.
Monitoring cargo acceptance, delivery, build-up, breakdown, and airside handling activities within required connection times.
Planning cargo loading into ULDs and aircraft bulk areas according to priorities, available capacity, and aircraft payload limitations.
Reviewing deviations from planned cargo uplift requirements and supporting appropriate corrective action.
Inspecting ULDs and cargo handling equipment and reporting defects or damage requiring maintenance or replacement.
Monitoring cargo discrepancies such as damage, loss, or irregularities and supporting preventive and corrective measures.
Supervising cargo unloading and offloading operations for arriving and departing flights.
Checking cargo movements for deviations from established procedures and reporting issues when necessary.
Monitoring the movement of cargo from aircraft ramps to warehouse facilities and ensuring processing takes place within required service standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should have:

At least 10 years of schooling or an equivalent educational qualification.
A minimum of two years of experience in a cargo, warehouse, or similar operational environment.
Practical knowledge of aircraft handling, ramp operations, and cargo terminal procedures.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Additional Experience

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in administrative positions, particularly within an airline safety environment.

Additional useful knowledge includes:

Safety applications and data management systems.
ERP systems and safety information platforms.
Safety investigation procedures and preparation of investigation reports.
UAE GCAA and ICAO safety investigation requirements.
Safety and ERP systems such as Coruson.
