CAREER OPPORTUNITY AT Tabby Group : APPLY NOW FOR THE LATEST VACANCIES

Tabby operates on a straightforward principle that traditional banking overlooked for decades: people deserve genuine control over their daily finances. For generations, conventional fiscal frameworks were engineered primarily to protect and enrich the institutions operating them. Opaque fee structures, compounding penalty rates, and restrictive credit qualifications routinely pushed ordinary earners to the margins. Consumers often found themselves tangled in confusing fine print, trapped in debt cycles, or entirely shut out from modern payment channels that should have helped them thrive. The alternative to that outdated architecture is an intuitive, all-in-one financial app engineered around three simple actions: spending, sending, and saving. Rather than profiting from unexpected penalties or ambiguous repayment schedules, the platform gives individuals and businesses predictable, transparent alternatives. Shoppers gain the flexibility to divide payments over time without dreading predatory interest charges, peer-to-peer transfers happen without friction, and integrated savings features help households build resilience. Everything runs on total clarity, enabling users to understand their exact balances and obligations at a glance. Founded in 2019, the fintech firm emerged right as the Middle East witnessed an unprecedented shift in consumer behavior and digital adoption. The Gulf Cooperation Council economies headlined by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Kuwait have been undergoing sweeping economic modernization. Even as traditional trade benchmarks dominate global headlines, such as Saudi Arabia loading nearly 12 million barrels of oil in a single day while shipping traffic adapts across the Strait of Hormuz, the domestic landscape on the ground is moving rapidly toward knowledge-driven, cashless commerce. Rapid urbanization, a young and tech-literate population, and forward-looking regulatory initiatives have created fertile ground for modern financial tools.

Within this energetic regional environment, adoption accelerated quickly. Today, more than 25 million shoppers rely on Tabby to handle day-to-day purchases and manage personal cash flow. The user base covers a broad cross-section of society: college students buying study supplies, working parents balancing monthly utility expenses, and young professionals planning major lifestyle investments. By removing the fear of compound debt, the platform reframes short-term credit from an intimidating liability into an accessible, practical budgeting tool. The impact extends just as deeply across the commercial sector. Over 65,000 commercial entities currently plug into the ecosystem, creating an expansive network that spans international brand names, regional department stores, government portals, and independent street-level businesses. For smaller retailers, partnering with an accessible payment platform acts as an immediate equalizer. Small business owners frequently struggle with high merchant service fees and low conversion rates at checkout. Providing shoppers with transparent, interest-free installment options directly reduces cart abandonment, increases average basket values, and builds customer loyalty without subjecting buyers to aggressive collections tactics.

Government agencies and municipal service providers across the region have likewise embraced these flexible payment pathways. Allowing citizens and residents to handle administrative fees, public services, and educational costs through manageable installment plans eases seasonal financial strain and supports broader digital governance objectives. The resulting ecosystem links public institutions, private enterprise, and individual households in a mutually beneficial cycle of financial health. Behind this sustained growth lies a fundamental shift in how modern consumers judge financial products. The days when customers accepted arbitrary administrative fees or complex legal disclaimers simply because no alternative existed are gone. Today’s earners demand products that respect their time, protect their hard-earned money, and function seamlessly on mobile devices. When people know exactly what a transaction costs upfront, they spend more responsibly, plan their budgets with greater confidence, and develop lasting trust in the platforms they use. Looking toward the coming decade, the democratization of regional commerce will depend on making money management easier, safer, and more collaborative. Financial tools should never feel like a high-stakes gamble where one delayed payment triggers an avalanche of charges. Instead, modern applications need to serve as reliable everyday utility systems that empower users, support enterprise stability, and reward disciplined fiscal habits. Tabby demonstrates that sustainable corporate scale does not require squeezing everyday users through penalty-heavy revenue models. By aligning merchant growth with shopper protection across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Kuwait, the platform has established a new benchmark for fintech in the region. Restoring trust, dismantling arbitrary barriers, and putting genuine financial decision-making back into the hands of ordinary people proves that when people hold real authority over their money, entire economies move forward together.

Open Positions & Qualifications

General Manager

Tabby is the leading shopping and financial services app in the Middle East — 25M+ users, 65,000+ merchants across Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait. We’re now building our Kuwait team. This is a founding role. As General Manager, you will take Tabby Kuwait from a licensed entity in progress to a fully operating, onshore, regulated business and then scale it. You’ll be the face of Tabby to the Central Bank of Kuwait and to the local banking and merchant ecosystem, with full accountability for standing up the entity, the team and the growth plan from day one. Very few people get to build a regulated consumer finance business in a market from a standing start, with a proven regional platform behind them. This is that opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Central Bank of Kuwait relationship end to end — registration and licensing, correspondence, inspections and ongoing supervisory dialogue — as the named accountable executive
  • Stand up Tabby Payments K.S.C.C. as a fully operating local entity, with its own team, compliance, operations and governance
  • Carry full commercial ownership of the Kuwait market: merchant acquisition and retention, bank and payments partnerships, local marketing and customer growth
  • Own the local P&L and market-level economics, operating within group frameworks for product, credit, risk, treasury and legal — and influencing those functions to get what the market needs
  • Build and lead the local team, starting lean and scaling with the business — defining the hiring plan and owning the local cost base
  • Define and sequence the market’s product roadmap with group product, bringing Tabby’s wider product set into Kuwait as licensing and infrastructure allow — including longer-term financing, card, wallet and payments, and cross-border transfers
  • Represent Tabby externally as the senior leader in-market, with banks, merchants, partners and the regulator

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience, including at least 3 years in a general management or senior commercial role with full P&L accountability
  • A track record of launching or scaling a regulated financial services, payments or fintech business in a GCC market
  • Direct experience as the named accountable executive in a relationship with a financial regulator — licensing, submissions, examinations or remediation
  • Domain expertise in fintech, consumer lending/BNPL, payments and e-money, or retail banking and cards, including financial regulation and licensing in the GCC (Central Bank of Kuwait experience specifically valued)
  • A proven merchant or B2B commercial track record — building a partner base from a low base, not just managing an existing one
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity with a small team: a builder, not an administrator of an established machine
  • Strong grounding in P&L management and unit economics, regulatory submissions and compliance/AML frameworks, and commercial contracting and partnership negotiation
  • Professional Arabic and English, including the ability to handle Arabic regulatory correspondence

Nice to have

  • Existing relationships with the Central Bank of Kuwait
  • Prior experience inside a high-growth start-up or fintech
  • Exposure to local funding or bank facility relationships

LOCATION : Kuwait City, Al Asimah, Kuwait
