GSE Technician
Synopsis
The GSE Technician is responsible for the maintenance , serviceability and positioning of the GSE equipment and vehicles in the Technical Operations environment.
Accountabilities
- Ensure safe & smooth functioning of the GSE organization.
- Ensure all preventive maintenance of the GSE equipment and vehicles is performed as required by the operation and as defined by the equipment manufacturer.
- Be available and assist with any audit requirements as defined by the National Airworthiness Authority, EY Quality Assurance or the customer.
- Strive perform his functions and responsibilities in order to achieve “zero” repeat audit findings and minimize any other audit findings.
- Controls all GSE and vehicles and makes sure all are in serviceable condition.
- Ensures the daily & weekly checks of cars and GSE are correctly done by the shifts using approved authority & company procedures, documentations and processes.
- Ensures all GSE is maintained according to the maintenance schedule shifts using approved authority & company procedures, documentations and processes.
- Maintains an up-to-date inventory list of all GSE.
- Carries out work in compliance with company, health / safety and airport procedures and regulations.
- Ensure to use & maintain approved company provided PPE all the time during daily GSE activities.
- Ensure to obtain and maintain the validity of all necessary safety & operation training provided by the company (e.g. First Aid, Fire Warden, IPAF, HF, documentation).
- Ensure to report all accidents and incidents as per the approved Emergency response procedures.
- Keeps control of airport passes and permits of vehicles.
- Performs all duties allocated to him by the GSE supervisor
- Service Order creation for work required (Vehicles and Equipment)
- Post maintenance/repair inspection of Vehicles and GSE
- Performs daily, weekly & monthly inventory checks in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Behaves in a manner which reflects a professional approach when dealing with customers.
- Ensure staff competency is performed through approved Etihad competency department for GSE staff to assess, knowledge, awareness, experience, capability, development and training.
- Establish and maintain effective and timely use of i-Achieve, CPM, i-Learn, Etihad Policies and Procedures and other tools as appropriate.
- Encourages colleagues and is actively involved in the promotion of safety awareness and a positive reporting culture, by reporting any unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or safety risks.
Education & Experience
- Strong AMOS background with strong English communication skills
- Should be trained or with strong awareness of safety procedures and precautions when handling GSE (e.g. safety precautions when dealing with Fuel, Oil, Oxygen or Nitrogen).
- Should be trained or with strong awareness of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and their crucial part in daily GSE activities.
- Should be trained or with strong awareness of Emergency response, First aid & Fire warden requirements and procedures
- Holding valid UAE driving license for at least 2 years (light or heavy vehicles).
- Should be trained or with strong awareness of safety & operating procedures and precautions when operating GSE (e.g. IPAF training to operate Genies).
- Minimum of 5 years’ aviation experience including at least 2 years in a related position (GSE – Aircraft Maintenance).
- Must be able to work nights and weekends, work under stress and be able to communicate perfectly in English.
- Has attended the Mandatory training within 6 months of joining the company as per TPM 3.92 requirements.
- High school leaving certificate/ Diploma is preferred with background in aircraft engineering studies.

As a Captain with Etihad, you hold ultimate authority for the safe, secure, and efficient operation of every flight. You are entrusted with technical command of the aircraft, leadership of the crew, and the responsibility to uphold Etihad’s highest standards of professionalism.

- Ensure the safety and security of crew, passengers, cargo, and aircraft at all times
- Exercise full command of the aircraft from taxi-out to final engine shutdown
- Lead the flight and cabin crew, demonstrating strong decision-making and effective crew resource management
- Operate with efficiency and environmental responsibility, in line with company fuel and sustainability policies
- Deliver consistent On Time Performance to meet Etihad’s commitment to reliability and guest satisfaction
 
What you’ll bring
To be considered for the role of Captain A320, you must meet the criteria below:
- 
- A minimum of 5500 hours total flying time.
- A minimum of 2500 PIC hours on multi crew, glass cockpit (1)
- A minimum of 1500 PIC hours on one of the A320 Family
- Flown A320 family within the last 12 months
- Type rating on A320 should be valid for a minimum of 2 months at the time of joining
- Unrestricted and current ICAO ATPL
- Current on A320
- Unrestricted and current Class 1 medical
- Have not attained the age of 59 years on the day of joining
- Current TRE/TRI is an advantage
- English Language Fluency (written and verbal) Level 4 or higher
