CAREER OPPORTUNITY AT Egis GROUP; APPLY NOW FOR THE LATEST VACANCIES

Egis is a leading global architecture, consulting, construction engineering and operating firm. We work side by side with clients to build a more balanced, sustainable and resilient world. Egis is a leading global architectural, consulting, construction engineering, operations and mobility services firm. We create and operate intelligent infrastructure and buildings that both respond to the climate emergency and contribute to balanced, sustainable and resilient development. The governance and capital structure behind a global engineering firm often dictate its operational priorities. In the case of Egis, the ownership model is anchored by three primary stakeholder groups. Tikehau Capital controls a 43 percent share through its dedicated Decarbonization Strategy Fund, establishing carbon reduction as a financial directive rather than a cosmetic goal. Caisse des Dépôts, the French state-owned financial institution, holds 34 percent, lending long-term institutional stability. The remaining 23 percent belongs to partner managers and employees. This dynamic aligns executive decisions with workforce interests, giving the professionals executing daily project work an direct stake in the enterprise’s long-term health.

While administrative headquarters remain in France, where roots extend back roughly nine decades to the pre-World War II period, the modern business operates predominantly on an international stage. More than 62 percent of active contracts and revenue now originate outside French borders. A multidisciplinary workforce of 23,500 people is distributed across more than 70 countries, forming a dense operational network on every inhabited continent. This footprint reflects a decades-long transition from a regional technical consult to a global player in transport design, real estate engineering, and civic infrastructure. Many multinational firms operate by dispatching short-term technical advisors into unfamiliar markets. The methodology practiced across this network relies instead on deep local immersion. Staff members reside in the communities where projects take shape. An urban planner or water engineer living within a specific metropolitan area understands regional hydrology, local building codes, labor availability, and neighborhood politics far better than an outside specialist flying in on a temporary assignment. By embedding teams alongside municipal agencies, regional startups, and academic institutions, the resulting infrastructure addresses genuine district requirements instead of theoretical assumptions.

The scope of activity spans the entire lifespan of the built environment. Rather than exiting once architectural plans receive regulatory approval or when construction finishes, services extend across early feasibility studies, structural engineering, project delivery, and long-term facility operation. Active involvement in running transport systems, toll plazas, and complex facilities generates practical data that pure design firms rarely see. Lessons gathered during decades of ground-level maintenance inform early-phase design choices on future developments, ensuring that new bridges, hospitals, and transit hubs are engineered for cost-effective maintenance and physical durability over half a century. Environmental pressures have forced a fundamental shift in civil engineering standards. Projects today must contend with acute weather anomalies, rising temperatures, and shifting regulatory demands. Within transportation a major contributor to carbon emissions the priority centers on mass transit electrification, multi-modal interchanges, and intelligent traffic management designed to reduce carbon output per passenger-kilometer. Sustainable building design treats energy conservation, circular material sourcing, and passive cooling as primary engineering parameters rather than afterthought add-ons.Technological modernization plays an equally critical role in how physical spaces are designed and managed. Sensor arrays embedded within railways, viaducts, and commercial properties capture real-time readings on structural strain, temperature fluctuations, and traffic loads. Integrating this continuous stream of physical diagnostics into predictive maintenance models prevents mechanical failures, lowers operating costs, and safely extends the operational life of public infrastructure. Because no single organization can develop every necessary technology internally, technical teams frequently co-develop analytical platforms and monitoring tools in partnership with research laboratories and specialized software startups.

This integrated approach represents the culmination of a century of industrial evolution. Following the devastation of the mid-twentieth century, the early focus of the company centered on heavy civil reconstruction: pouring concrete, erecting motorways, and laying municipal utility lines to serve expanding post-war cities. As European and global economies shifted toward high-speed rail lines, intricate aviation hubs, and complex underground utilities, the engineering portfolio broadened to match. Today, the central challenge is no longer merely building outward, but retrofitting existing urban systems to operate cleanly within tight environmental boundaries. Infrastructure choices inevitably shape public life for generations. A light-rail line, an airport terminal, or a regional flood barrier built today establishes the physical and economic patterns of a region for the next century. Designing these assets requires an appreciation for historical context, absolute technical accuracy, and an ongoing commitment to the communities living alongside the finished structures. By merging local personnel with international engineering capabilities, Egis delivers intelligent, resilient infrastructure that balances economic necessity with ecological responsibility.
